Abstract submission


  • Abstract submission is open from 1 February to 15 May 2015. To submit your abstract, click here.
  • Abstracts will be reviewed blind from 15 May to 7 June by an international review panel of experts in the field.
  • Authors will be informed of the acceptance or rejection of their abstract by June 15 and, if accepted, whether it is selected to be a poster or oral presentation (authors can choose poster presentation if they prefer).
  • Authors must register in the congress to be able to present, and will have time to benefit from early bird registration until 30 June


  • Abstract must not exceed 2000 characters
  • Please construct your abstract using the following subheadings: Introduction / Material & Methods / Results / Conclusions
  • Up to two tables or images may be included, only simple graphs/images that don’t exceed 500 KB
  • Abstracts must be written in English and proof read and corrected before submission as no further correction will take place before publication. Authors must use the following style:

With the title in capital letters and the authors and institutions, only the first letter.

  • All authors that were involved in the study should be entered in the order you wish them to appear and the presenting author indicated.
  • Only essential references should be included, abbreviated as follow:

  • The Congress reserves the right to publish the abstract or any details or data submitted for the purposes of the Congress either in electronic format or on paper before, during and after the Congress. The abstract book will be subsequently published in Dysphagia Journal and available on the members’ section of the ESSD website.
